Re-Reading the News: Daniel Comegys and the Baltimore Institute of Musical Arts

Join us at 6pm on September 29, 2021 for a conversation on our Instagram page with Daniel Comegys, a Baltimore native, singer, and former student at the short-lived, but influential Baltimore Institute of Musical Arts. BIMA was founded as a musical institute open to students of all races in response to the Peabody’s racially discriminatory policies at the time. Mr. Comegys will recount stories about his training at the school, and how it laid a foundation for a long and decorated career as a concert singer.
