I assist the Executive Director with day to day programmatic tasks, and I help the Director of Programs & Partnerships with social media designs and event planning.
I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD, and have a passion for songwriting, storytelling, and community. I am a graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts and the University of Baltimore, where I received my B.A. in Art Management & Production. I am currently pursuing my MFA in Creative Writing at my alma mater. I also host a local arts event called the Love Groove Festival and hope to see you at the next one.
Tamara Dobson as Cleopatra Jones, DC AFRO, Jul. 27, 1973. This is one of the first images I found in the AFRO Archives when I joined the team, and I felt drawn to Dobson's style and her custom plates. I love how the Archives hold artistic memory as well as historic records as well.
I took a road trip to Philadelphia to support a friend who had a prominent role in a new play. It was a great experience that inspired me to continue investing in the artists in my life, and to deepen my devotion to my own craft as well.
